De musici van het Ensemble Nevermind verkennen hier de rijkdom van een veel te zelden gespeeld repertoire met de kwartetten H. 537-539 en de sonates H. 29 en H. 135 van Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. De componist creëerde de drie kwartetten voor klavier, fluit en altviool in 1788, het jaar van zijn dood; het gaat hier niet om de instrumenten, maar om het aantal partijen! Deze verbazingwekkende werken werden besteld door Sara Levy, een belangrijke Berlijnse mecenas en begaafd klaveciniste, die later de oudtante van Felix Mendelssohn zou worden.
